The War

We will take the overnight train from Bangkok to Laos tomorrow evening. After finding Song, we will return to the jungles of Vietnam for the first time since Reed was a soldier there 40 years ago.

Dear Mom. Happy Thanksgiving from Da Nang. The war's going great. They put me in with a radio operator named Gary Meyer. He's batshit insane but other than that he seems like an ok guy. It's very humid here and the food is strange. I miss all my friends back home but I came here so they wouldn't have to. Somebody had to do it.
